Nature Immersion Experiences

Let the land do its ancient work.

The Experience

The Nature Immersion program draws on the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku (forest bathing) and the Hawaiian concept of mālama ʻāina — caring for the land as a way of caring for oneself. Guided slow walks through our adjacent native forest invite all five senses to open, unhurried and unplugged.

The program includes two moonlit beach walks, each coinciding with or near the full moon. Participants gather at dusk, walk in silence along the shoreline with only the moonlight and sound of the Pacific, and close with a brief fire ceremony on the sand. These evenings are among the most frequently cited transformative moments in participant reflections.

A visit to a nearby ahupuaʻa — a traditional Hawaiian land division that runs from mountain to sea — offers cultural context for our relationship with this specific place. A native Hawaiian cultural practitioner guides the visit and shares protocols for entering sacred land with respect.
